Who will Take Over for Phil Jackson?

There is no question that the Los Angeles Lakers look like they will be very good, perhaps championship favorites, for the next three to five years in the NBA.

Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest, Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum

Sounds like an all-star roster doesn’t it?

Yes, it does, but what about Phil Jackson?

That will be the biggest question over the next couple of seasons as Phil Jackson’s future is in doubt as the coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Not that he isn’t capable of doing the job, obviously he is with a ring for every finger, but he body has seriously started to breakdown and physically traveling with team on road trips is really starting to affect his physical health.

Originally, Kurt Rambis seemed to be groomed for the role of Phil Jackson’s successor, but now that Rambis has jumped ship to go coach the Minnesota Timberwolves of all teams the successor to arguably the best NBA coach ever is up in the air.

Now the talks begin of a successor as it will be arguably the most desirable coaching position in the NBA with the possibility of winning multiple championships. Mike Krzyzewski’s name has been thrown around a lot over the last couple of seasons since Kobe Bryant absolutely loves him as a coach after his time with Coach K in the Olympics, but Coach K has said that he has no intention of leaving Duke and I don’t blame him as he, like Jackson in Los Angeles and in Chicago, is the best Duke coach of all-time.

Other names are Brian Shaw, Jim Cleamons and Bill Cartwright. Out of these names I believe Shaw will be the best and most likely choice as he is still very young and has a good relationship with Kobe and the rest of the players.

Regardless of who does take over for the Zen Master the Los Angeles Lakers will absolutely dominated the sports betting world in the NBA over the next five years in my opinion. They are easily the favorites to repeat right now and you will see that all over sports betting forum and online betting sites. So in my opinion if you are going to bet on sports, bet on the Lakers!
